market formed by the Great Jamahiriya (Libyan Republic) and its neighbours
about 143,5 million people. The sum of the Gross Domestic Product
of these countries are estimated at 191 billion US dollars, the total
export value at 38 billion US dollars and total import value at 47
billion US dollars. The share of the Great Jamahiriya of these figures
is about 13.7% and 13.2% respectively.
The
market area of the Sahel countries (Sudan, Chad, and Niger) is about
48 million people. The estimated Gross Domestic Product was about
12 billion US dollars, value of exports about 897 million US dollar,
and imports about 1546 million US dollars. Libyan economy can secure
sufficient foreign currency revenues to satisfy the needs of the
country for different productive projects and projects of basic
infrastructure required for the continuation of its development
process. The average cash income per capita in the Great Jamahiriya
is the highest in Africa. It amounted to 6,064 US dollars in 1997.

kind in Libya. After the massive changes that government concerning
erasing the difficulties in importing products to Libya, a noticeable
increase on the import rates has took place.
Nevertheless, this fair aim to build that bridge connection between
visitors, businessmen, importers, decision makers, manufacturers,
and wholesalers; from one side, the other with the participants to
tie up together.
