M/s. Skandia cutting dies P.Ltd., is  a joint venture between the Indian promoters and M/s. Skandia Stanse Knive A/S of Denmark. The company was set up in the year 1985 and  is actively engaged in the manufacture of cold steel and forged steel clicking knives/cutting dies/ press knives largely for the leather and leather products industry. ‘Skandia’ has  a modern manufacturing facility in the city  of Chennai (formerly known as Madras) in the Southern part of India. The manufacturing unit has all the latest machines assembled from different parts  of Europe and Japan. Cold steel used in the manufacture of cutting dies is imported from Sweden and Austria while   forged steel is imported from Italy/Austria. The punches and prickers are imported from Sweden/Germany/Italy. All other input raw materials like brace-steel, consumables like electrodes are also imported from Western Europe to ensure that the dies manufactured by ‘Skandia’ are of the best quality and comparable to West European standards. ‘Skandia’ has been supplying cutting dies to several leading shoe manufacturers from Austria, Bangladesh, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Indonesia, Japan, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Singapore and U.K.. ‘Skandia’ has a reputation both in India and abroad as a quality die manufacturer who adheres to not only quality but also delivery on time. The range of products include all types of simple and complicated dies including matrix dies for the  shoes and shoe upper factories, knives for leather goods including Wallets, Bags, Portfolio-cases, Travel ware, Watch Straps, Waist Belts, Dress-gloves, Industrial gloves, Laboratory gloves, Laboratory Test Specimens, Industrial Articles like Pump-Washers, Gaskets etc.

In order to ensure timely delivery and right quality of material based upon the end use applications of the customer, 'Skandia' maintains a wide variety of cold steel knives in heights 19, 32 and 50mm and in thickness ranging from 1mm to 5mm with different cutting profiles and forged steel in heights ranging from 45 to 105mm.. 'Skandia' also maintains a large stock of various types of punches and prickers that may be called for use in the above dies. This gives the strength and advantage to 'Skandia' in being in a position to supply all types of dies at the committed delivery schedules. 'Skandia' has also trained its manpower in ISO-9000 standards and will soon be applying for certification to ISO-9002.
