Shilpa Darshan Kumar

Endowed with a beautiful stage presence and a solid grounding in Nritta, Shilpa Darshan Kumar, the senior most student of kalasadhanalaya, is a versatile dance, choreographer and teacher. She has been  training  of Ms. Revathi Ramachandran for over 12 years.She has given solo recitals in many sabhas and organisation in Madras , including The Music Academy - spirit of youth , The Indian Fine Arts Society, Parthasarathy Swami Sabha and Nritya Ranga. The training and experience  in Bharatnatyam has shaped Shilpa into a consummate artiste. Her footwork in Suddha Nrittam has  kept the audience  spellbound on many  occasions.

She assists Ms. Revathi Ramachandran in all choreographic features and productions. Shilpa plays lead role in all the productions of the institution. Her portrayal of Shiva in the  popular ballet " Ambalathil Aadum Jyothi" has won her accolades from  press and art lovers. Shilpa has been featured in the CD-ROM - Bharatanatyam. She has assisted her teacher in all Lec/ dems. She has performed in UK, USA, Europe and Canada.

Aarti Mohan
 

Born to Dance - that is twinkle- toed Aarti Mohan - petite expressive and with an  artistic assurance beyond her years.

Aarthi has been learning Bhartanatyam from  Revathi Ramachandran for over 10 years.

She  played the role of  little  Krishna in the  dance feature -         "Krishnam Vande Jagathgurum" of I.D.A. Aarti's innate talent got  her an engaging part in the TV  serial- " Noopur". Aarti has performed in all major  sabhas in  Chennai like - Bharat Kalachar, Narada Gana Sabha, Spirit of Youth- The Music Academy and Nritya  Ranga .

Aarthi is a recipient of  scholarship from the Centre of Cultural Resources and Training. She  has participated in all the production of the Institution  in lead roles and has won wide appreciation. She has accompanied her teacher and performed at UK, Europe, USA and Canada.Aarthi is succcessfully pursuing her dance career in Pilani - where she is now doing computer engineering, choreographing and dancing, earning appreciation of  stalwart critics like 'Subbudu'.E-mail: Aartimohan@webindia.com

                                Sunita Raghav
The graceful and  supple movements picked up during the initial training  in Russian Ballet, made Sunita Raghav take to Bharatnatyam as a vocation . She continues as a senior disciple of Ms. Revathi Ramachandran. Having helped  her guru to  conduct classes for  the institution at Chennai, she has now started the Bangalore branch of  Kala Sadhanalaya. Sunita has assisted her guru in directing a teleserial for DD Chennai - she was awarded a scholarship for learning Nattuvangam by ELAL, ISAI, Nataka Manaram.
She has  performed solo  in many stages- Music Academy , Narada Gana Sabha, Karthik Fine Arts, Indian fine Arts. She  has also performed in a  lot of  prestigious shows in India - Qutub festival, Natyanjali Festival etc. She has accompanied her guru as   performed abroad in UK., USA, Europe and Canada.

Dhivya Subramaniyam


After initial training under Surya Santhanam, Dhivya came under the tutelage of Ms. Revathi Ramachandran in the year 1994. Thereafter she performed along with her guru in all the productions of Kalasadhanalaya at prestigious festival in Chennai and India-Qutab Festival, Natyanjali Festival, Margazhi Mahotsav etc.

Dhivya has also given solo recitals in many prestigious sabhas including R.R.Sabha , Indian Fine arts society etc. She has taken part in the 13 episode serial "Deiveega Thirumanangal " telecast by the Chennai Doordarshan Kendra. Dhivya has helped in demonstrating many facets of the Melattur School of Bharatnatyam at the Abhai and Fine Arts Foundation . A senior student of Kalasadhanalaya Dhivya’s performance is noted for her Angasuddha, firm footwork and Arai mandi. She also assists her guru in conducting classes at Kalasadhanalaya.

Ramya Subramaniyan

Ramya Subramanian was the recipient of scholarships (For four consecutive years) given by Eayal Isai Nataka Manram and also the scholarship given by Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Educational Trust.

She is the daughter of Mr.k.Subramanian, Senior Advocate and Former Advocate General, Tamil Nadu and Mrs. Vasanthi Subramanian.

Ramya has been performing from then on actively in all leading dance performances and Dance Competition programmes. Recently her arangetram was held at Madras on Sunday,the 12th December , 1999 at Naradha Gana Sabha, T.T.K. Road, Alwarpet, Chennai-18. Hon'ble Justice P.B.Sawant, Chairman, Press Council of India, New Delhi and Former Judge, Supreme Court of India presided. Hon'ble Justice M.N. Venkatachaliah was the Chief Guest. Former Chief Justice of the Madras High Court K.A.Swami; Mrs. Y.G.Parthasarathy and Smt.Anitha Rathnam offered their felicitations.
