The Founder 

The mantle of the priceless legacy of Guru Mangudi Dorairaja Iyer’s special style of Bharathanatyam- and in particular  his " Sudha Nrittam" lies gracefully on his ‘star’ disciple Revathi Ramachandran. A totally dedicated artiste who will never  settle  for mediocrity where excellence can be  achieved Revathi has carved for herself a unique niche in the dance scenario . Her  stage  personality and artistry exude a touch of class,adhered to the classical lines of the great art which embodies purity, strength and  beauty. 
 Revathi has performed  in India under major banners and in several dance festivals. She has travelled extensively and performed in the USA , Canada, UK and Malaysia earning accolades both for herself and her  immaculately turned out troupe of dancers/students. Besides performing she has also been involved in organising and assisting several eminent personalities in the  sphere of dance notably Dr.Padma Subramaniam, Sri. T.S Parthasarathy, Sri. Arudra and Dr. Nagaswamy - the later two by demonstrating " Suddha Nrittam" and "Thiru Tala Jati" respectively for their  lectures at important conferences. She has  also taken part in a film  " A poetry of Dance" produced by  Laksmi Viswanathan from  whom  she  learns Abhinaya. Awarded a fellowship  by the Ministry of  Education , Revathi has done  research on the Bhagavatamela tradition and presented a paper  "Pravesha Darus in Bhagavatamela Natakam" at the  Natyakala  conference in Chennai. She has also had the previlege of  interacting and performing with great dancers under the prestigious banner of the  IDA(International Dance Alliance)
 She has also had Veena training from Smt. Kalpagam Swaminathan, a diploma in Nattuvangam from " Kalapeetam", under the expert guidance of Bhagavatulu Sitarama Sarma and  has achieved proficiency in Kuchipudi from  the great Guru Vempatti Chinna Satyam..  She has, provided video footage for and co-ordinated the production of the CD ROM " BHARATHANATYAM" and choreographed and directed the dance for a 13 episode Serial telecast on DD Chennai entitled ‘DEVIEEGA THIRUMANANGAL’.
The quest for knowledge is never ending. Revathi who for all her accomplishments is  an inveterate student  continues to listen, observe and learn thus adding greater  lustre to her art.
