SILVER & GOLDEN JUBILEE RELEASES

Silver Jubilee is an occasion to celebrate. Various discussions amongst those concerned, including members of a specially convened Silver Jubilee Celebration Committee, led to the conclusion that Shree Bharatalaya should go beyond organising festivities & undertake to produce:

a book consisting of about 40 of the dance compositions of Madurai N.Krishnan, with English transliteration of the lyrics, word-for-word meaning, & musical notation

a handy volume containing a selection of lakshana sloka-s relevant to Bharatanatyam, excerpted from traditional source texts used at Shree Bharatalaya, accompanied by photographs to illustrate the hasta-s, mudra-s, etc.,

The consensus of all concerned was that the book & the recordings to be released should focus on vidwan Madurai N. Krishnan, who has played a pivotal role in the development & achievements of Shree Bharatalaya.
