Alacrity Housing - Self reliance in Water

13. Storage and distribution system in Alacrity's complexes

A residential apartment complex will generally have more than one source of water and the quality of the water drawn from those sources may not be the same. The quantity available from the different sources may also change from time to time e.g. treated water availability may increase in the rainy season whereas water drawn from wells in the premises may increase in the dry season. A good water storage system therefore must be versatile enough to store different qualities of water and also take advantage of the varying supply situations. Similarly, the water quality required for different daily uses is not the same. Therefore, the water distribution system installed in an apartment complex has to be flexible enough so as to be able to allocate in an optimal manner the right quality of water for each specific use.

The storage and distribution system that Alacrity installs in its complexes to achieve these objectives is schematically presented in the pages that follow.
